Home-cooked Dinner, La Fortuna, Costa Rica

One of the highlights of our trip to Puerto Rico was when our group was invited to a private home for dinner.  The home was on the outskirts of La Fortuna and our hosts were a lovely couple.

Part of the experience was making our own tortillas.  Our hostess mixed up the corn dough, then each of us made at least one tortilla, hand rolling the dough, flattening it by hand, then warming and browning it on her stove.

Our hostess had prepared a wonderful meal for the group including plantations, black beans, salad, and a rice dish with chicken.
