Immersive Art: Van Gogh Alive!

Museums just used to house and show work by notable artists. The fusion of creativity, technology and art is leading to remarkable exhibits. Van Gogh Alive is one such exhibit, currently showing at the Dali Museum in St. Petersburg, Florida. This exhibit will be showing at other cities in the future.

IMG_1609The projections of the artwork are huge, immersing the audience in the art.  The show is on a continuous loop, so just pay attention to the images and music to catch the entire piece.

The Mona Lisa is smaller than one imagines it to be. Now imagine experiencing artwork larger than life. The screens are twice the average person’s height, so projected paintings, in brilliant color make it feel as if you are being immersed in the artwork.

Some of the artwork is cleverly animated. One hundred-year-old artwork brought to life! It is incredibly well done.

Finally, music was added throughout the presentation. The imagination applied to classic creativity is wonderful, leaving a powerful impression.

I hope the short video clips give you a taste and the photos show the wonderful nature of this exhibit.  Enjoy!
