The 5-star Ninawa Hotel in Mosul, Iraq's second-largest city, has been re-opened by Islamic State officials. The city was seized by ISIS last year. The hotel, which had great TripAdvisor reviews before that, is not for the average traveler. It's recommended for visiting ISIS commanders, and also offers to cater weddings and family events.
It's been altered a bit: friezes and other artworks considered heretical by the fundamentalist commanders have been removed or painted over.
