Italy: A roundup of unusual Nativity scenes

While Italy can’t claim to be the birthplace of Jesus, it can claim some of the most unusual representations, including the only one where the Pope places the baby Jesus in the manger (that one’s the Vatican’s version, just below).

And the Vatican version is far from Italy’s most unusual, with the title picture showing a guess at what the scene could look like if it happened today.
