Where the Olympics Began

Although earthquakes and political decisions have taken their toll on this remarkable location, with an expert guide, the ruins come to life. Here oiled men trained and competed in the Olympics every four years for 1,100 years. The ancient games ended in 393 AD.

Exodus allows one evening to explore the village and the next day to tour the historic area as well as two museums: the Archaeological Museum and Museum of the Ancient Games.
