Jet becomes holiday light show at Luton

London's Luton Airport is sporting one of the world's most unusual holiday light displays with an A320 transformed into a dazzling light show, said to be the biggest ever involving an airplane.

Luton and EasyJet collaborated on the project, which used 2.4km of LED bulbs and 850,000 choreographed light sequences. Ten lighting designers and special effects artists worked on the show, whose lights are synched to a performance of Tchaikovsky's Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy from the Nutcracker ballet.

The best part of every trip is realizing that it has upset your expectations
