JetBlue knows how to rock an inaugural flight

Cleveland and JetBlue are a new happy couple, as JetBlue opened its new Cleveland services with a bang. The first flight from Boston arrived at JetBlue’s new Cleveland gate April 30, after a flight that started with an Elvis impersonator at the Boston gate.

That was just the start…onboard, passengers played bingo for prizes that included Cleveland Indians tickets, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame passes and JetBlue airfare. On arrival, they were greeted by members of the Cleveland Orchestra playing classical selections near a pierogi-and-sausage buffet.

Regular flights won’t include all that, but Clevelanders are happy to be getting new service, including flights to Fort Lauderdale. Cleveland’s air service took a big hit when United dismantled Continental’s Cleveland hub a couple of years ago, leaving Cleveland with second-class service.
