Johnny Mercer Statue is located in Ellis Square, Savannah, Georgia. The bronze statue was created by Savannah sculptor, Susie Chisholm in her City Market studio. It was unveiled November, 2009.
Mercer was born in Savannah and was one of the most successful songwriters of the twentieth century, writing lyrics to over a thousand songs including "Moon River, "Jeepers Creepers" and "Accentuate the Positive." He also was the cofounder of Capitol Records.
I was really impressed at how well this statue blends into Historic Savannah.
