July 2, 2016: A summer visit to the Betty Ford Alpine Gardens, Vail

The summer season in alpine regions is short, but intense.  Beautiful flowers blossom in a rainbow of colors — some of the prettiest blooms anywhere!

We’ve previously presented a discussion of the Betty Ford Alpine Gardens in Vail, which at an altitude of 8,200 feet (2,500 m) is the highest Botanical Garden in the world.  I enjoy visiting this garden every-time I’m in Vail and these photos were snapped during my visit earlier this week.  I was playing with the macro function of a new pocket camera and overall am pleased with results — hope you like them, too!
