It's Queen Elizabeth's official 90th birthday today, so it seemed an appropriate day for these pictures from Weymouth, England, where she's been sculpted in sand, along with her husband, Prince Philip, who celebrates his actual 95th today, as well.
Weymouth, on the Dorset coast, is a good place for it. It's the self-proclaimed capital of sand sculpture and holds annual contests and exhibits, like this one on the beach along the Esplanade.
We were told the secret is in the sand: Weymouth's main beach has a fine-grain sand that holds moisture and shape well.
