Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church at Breitscheidplatz is one of Berlin's most famous landmarks and currently located in a shopping district called the Kurfürstendamm. It was designed by the German Emperor Wilhelm II in honor of his grandfather Wilhelm I.
The original Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church was bombed by the Allies in 1943 during WWII. A new octagonal church was built between 1957 and 1963, which can be seen to the right of tthe bombed-out church in my photo.
