Ledbury is a market town in the county of Herefordshire, England, lying east of Hereford, and west of the Malvern Hills. In the town centre is the unusual stilted Market House (above) dating from the 17th century, which continues to host twice-weekly markets.
Ledbury has a substantial number of these attractive timber-framed structures, especially along Church Lane and High Street.
Church Lane, a cobbled street running behind the Market House, is home to the 16th-century Painted Room, the Heritage Centre and the Butcher’s Row Museum. At the end stands St Michael’s and All Angels Church, one of seven churches in Herefordshire to have a separate, detached bell tower.
These shots were taken during an earlier visit, but I’m looking forward to getting back to the UK this year.
