Legion of Honor Museum, San Francisco (Where Gumbo Was #227)

Gumbo was visiting San Francisco's Legion of Honor Museum.  Congratulations to PortMoresby, GeorgeG and GarryRF, who solved this week's travel puzzle.
Located in Lincoln Park, the Legion of Honor museum is housed within a French neoclassical building, built to commemorate Californian soldiers who died in World War I.  The collections showcases thousands of works of art over a 4,000 year span from ancient times to the modern.

The museum is particularly renowned for European paintings, European decorative arts and sculpture, ancient art from the Mediterranean, and a huge works of art on paper collection.  The European paintings include more than 800 masterpieces from the 14th to the 20th centuries, with about 250 paintings from the permanent collection on display at any given moment.

Adolph B and Alma de Bretteville Spreckels were the founding patrons, their collections focused on 18th and 19th century French art.  Adolph Spreckels as founder and CEO of Spreckels Sugar Company, built and donated a French Pavillion replica from the 1915 Panama-Pacific International Exposition which became the Palace of the Legion of Honor. Alma had traveled to Paris before the war, where she met Rodin, purchasing many works directly from the artist, which she housed in her new museum.  The Roscoe and Margaret Oakes collection highlights Dutch, Flemish, French and British art from the 17th - 19th centuries. On-going gifts and acquisitions continue to expand the offerings in this elegant setting.
Many of this week's clues were crops of paintings focusing on the fine details of clothing captured by the artists.  Here are these clues and the paintings from which they originated....
