Felix Weis, a freelance computer programmer from Luxembourg, is on a year long trip to 21 countries intending to use bitcoin to pay for it. He started in January and has been to 14 countries so far. A lot of times he’s had to explain what the digital currency was and how people accepting it can use it.
His own rules for this trip are he must use bitcoin whenever possible to pay for travel and he never can use a debit or credit card. Also, in the event he needs local currency to pay for something, he can only do that by exchanging bitcoin for physical money with local people.
