The Moncton 100 monument in New Brunswick was erected in 1990 to honor Moncton's 100th anniversary as a city. It depicts Joseph Salter, a shipbuilder and first mayor of the township of Moncton in 1855.
The statue was designed by sculptor Claude Roussel and financed by local entrepreneurs. Overlooking the Chocolate River in Moncton, it contains a time capsule that will be opened in 2090.
