Jim Carter, known to millions as Mr. Carson, the stiff and formal, but warm-hearted, butler of Downton Abbey, has taken on a new job as a spokesman for VisitLondon’s “Autumn’s Season of Culture” digital campaign.
London doesn’t like to boast, Mr. Carson, tells us in the video (“We take huge pride in our enormous modesty,” he says) and then goes on to boast about a wide variety of great theater, great museums, great events, and much more…but modestly.
Research conducted by Google and by British tourism agencies indicates that culture is one of the main reasons visitors head for London, and one of the drivers of the city’s economy. The research also indicates that London is the most Googled city in the world.
