If you've seen the hit film Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, North Carolina's newest tourism attraction will look very familiar. It's the village of Sylva, which is starting to capitalize on its role as stand-in for the fictional Ebbing.
The Oscar-nominated film with Frances McDormand, Woody Harrelson and Sam Rockwell used street scenes and interiors in the town, changing signs as needed, including turning the Sassy Frass store into a 'police station.'
Now the state tourist board has equipped the town with an online trip planner that guides visitors to the sites where the scenes were filmed. The Explore Authentic Locations From Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri link will get you Main Street, Sassy Frass, Jackson's General Store (where a character was thrown from a second-floor window) and more, along with suggestions for food, drink and accommodations.
