I love Aquariums and really appreciate when they concentrate on local sea life. The New Brunswick Aquarium does just that. It has fish and invertebrates that inhabit the waters of the Gulf St. Lawrence and also the the lakes and the rivers of Eastern Canada.
It is a small but has some fun, educational and hands-on things to do.
The Aquarium has a theme room that shares info of the inhabitants under the sea. A 360-degree basin makes you feel like you are swimming with the fish.
Inside, there is also a touch tank where you can touch certain specious including the blue lobsters.
Outside you can see the harbor seals and if you come at the right times you can see them being fed.
Marine life is very important to the fishing industry and their theater shows the history of the fishing industry in the Acadian Peninsula.
Makes for a fun couple of hours and the Marine Centre Lighthouse is next door.
