Norwegian Cruises: Vax only, indefinitely

Norwegian Cruise holdings, which was the first to set a vaccinated-only rule for its passengers and which led the fight in Florida for the right to enforce it by checking passenger vaccine status, has announced it's extending the rule indefinitely.

Norwegian's CEO told financial analysts that "We have indefinitely extended our 100% vaccination requirement. I think that today that continues to be a competitive advantage for our three brands.” The three brands are Norwegian, Regent Seven Seas and Oceania.

Norwegian's rule, imposed originally in April and extended in August, is absolute; there are no exemptions for age or other reasons, which has meant that family groups including younger children have not been able to sail. He welcomed the recent approval of vaccines for 5- to 11-year olds, saying it "will allow for an expanded group of 100% vaccinated guests, especially families to sail on our brand."

Other cruise companies have allowed unvaccinated but tested youngsters to cruise with their families.
