Canada has two major rail companies that service the nation. One of these is CPR (Canada Pacific Railway) and the other is CNR (Canadian National Railway).
In my experience, CNR is the more commonly seen, and I was very happy to find this beautifully restored old caboose when I visited my brother in Thunder Bay this past summer.
The caboose was the living quarters for those who ran these trains and is almost always the last car of a train. It's where the workers live and cook and relax, and it's interesting to tour them. Unfortunately it was locked up when we visited.
