Now JetBlue is headed for Lisbon

JetBlue’s European ambitions have apparently taken the next step, with the airline filing a request for 840 slots for next summer at Lisbon’s airport—an amount that would give it two round-trips a day for the summer flying season.

The airline is coming off a victory that saved it from losing its slots at its most recently-added European city, Amsterdam, and has already announced plans to add Dublin and Edinburgh starting next summer. Paris and Amsterdam were added this year; the airline’s first European destination was London, added two years ago.

The two-round-trips-a-day schedule would likely follow JetBlue’s pattern of offering its Europe services from its New York and Boston hubs, using its growing fleet of A321 extended-range planes.
