The Official Airline Guide, one of the longest-standing industry guides, has just listed its 10-busiest air routes for the past year, as well as the busiest airports.
Asia and Pacific areas dominate the heavy trafic routes, starting with Kuala Lumpur to Singapore Changi with 4.9 million seats, with Cairo to Jeddah is second with 4.8 million seats, up from 3.4 million in 2019, followed by Hong Kong to Taipei in third place.
Top four international airports by numbers of seats: Atlanta's Hartfield-Jackson keeps its crown, followed by Dubai, Singapore and Heathrow.
John Grant, chief analyst at OAG, says “Asia continues to have the busiest routes in the world due to its popularity as a tourism hotspot, although capacity is not back to 2019 levels.
