On a recent three week solo road trip, I stopped at attractions and visited family and friends. One quick stop was at Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge in Northern Ohio along the Lake Erie shoreline in Ottawa County.
I took a half-mile boardwalk stroll into the marsh as well as drove along well-paved roads to observe several of the refuge’s migrating and resident birds.
There are much longer trails and special events throughout the year. I can highly recommend this free attraction. For more information on other area attractions go to www.shoresandislands.com.
