Walking along Calle Forteleza, I have encountered this store front on several occasions. Polo Norte (The North Pole) was a soda company founded in 1902. It is given credit (blame?) for the invention of Champagne Kola, a favorite in the Caribbean.

While the beautiful tiles are still present, the business is not, but building is home to wine bar, whose specialties are made from the soda that originated there.
