Ontario Science Center heats up holidays

The Ontario Science Center in Toronto has brought back its popular exhibit of the Magical Machines of Rowland Emmett (above) as one of several holiday highlights.

The machines will be on view from Dec. 16 to Jan. 14. Another returning feature, Strange Matter, a blend of chemistry, physics and engineering will run through January 7.

And two new features are open, as well. Deep Blue, an art installation that celebrates Lake Ontario’s beauty, ecology and depths, is on permanent exhibition. And Amazon Adventure, a new IMAX film is showing at the Centre, highlighting the 11-year expedition of naturalist and explorer Henry Bates, who provided information that helped Charles Darwin’s work.
