Pineapple fields, Costa Rica

One of Costa Rica's principle crops is pineapples, second in cash value only to the banana crop.  The main market for these pineapples is the USA.

When you drive through the countryside, you'll often see large pineapple fields like this one, especially at lower altitudes.

Pineapples were quite small yet at the time we visited, as you can see from the above photo.  But they are delicious when ripe.
