We all know Rome is a colorful place. On Christmas Eve, spent walking all around the city, I came along the Via dei Fori Imperiali past Palatine Hill toward the Colosseum and couldn’t help but be particularly struck by this fabulous display of fruit and chestnuts roasting on a winter’s day. An especially welcome sight in a city famous for it's sights.
While preparing this post I went onto Google Streetview to make sure I had the location just right. And there it was, Frutta Fresca, just where it should be. My photo, however, is better. I guess standing still has it's advantages. But do have a look to see it in context.
