BritishAir's parent company, International Airlines Group, has a new investor, Qatar Airways, which has bought 10% of the company and says it's maybe interested in more. EU rules limit non-European investors to a maximum of 49%.
IAG, which is trying to buy Aer Lingus says it is "delighted to have Qatar Airways...as a long term supportive stockholder. Qatar's plans include codeshares and other connections; all the airlines involved are part of the Oneworld alliance. MORE
