Rail vs Air for new UK-Europe links

Brexit may be coming to separate the UK from Europe, but rail operators are betting Brits and Europeans will still want high-speed convenient connections.

A new Eurostar link direct from London to Amsterdam and almost-direct on the way back started recently, challenging one of Europe's heaviest-used air routes, and more are coming.

A consortium of train operators is preparing to soon open a London-Bordeaux route, and Frankfurt and Geneva are on the list for furute. In some cases, only customs and border facilities are needed to start service.
