Royal Caribbean adds another private port

Royal Caribbean International is expanding further into a specialize real estate market—private ports reserved for its cruise ship passengers as an alternative to port calls in the real world. It's announced plans for a new facility on Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula.

The new destination, set to open in 2027, is adjacent to the port of Costa Maya, and will be called Perfect Day Mexico, echoing the name of its existing private-island port, Perfect Day at Coco Bay in the Bahamas. Like that port, it will include a water park, pools with ocean views, restaurants and bars, along with 'locally influenced elements' such as artisan shops and food and drink concessions.

RC is also planning two private beach clubs in existing ports for its passengers. To be called Royal Beach Club, one will open on Paradise Island, Nassau next year and the other in Cozumel in 2026. The cruise line is also re-opening its private beach at Labadee, Haiti, closed for the past seven months due to unrest in Haiti.

The best part of every trip is realizing that it has upset your expectations
