September 24, 2019: Arctic Watershed, Ontario

While I’ve commonly driven across the Continental Divide — that point where rainfall to the west flows to the Pacific and that to the east to the Atlantic, this is the only time I can recall a sign pointing out the Arctic watershed.

This signage is situated on the TransCanada highway, east of Thunder Bay.  North of this watershed all water eventually reaches Hudson Bay, while to the south all water enters the Great Lakes drainage system on its way to the Atlantic Ocean.
