Gallery: Signs of Charleston

Those who have been following TravelGumbo for awhile know that I enjoy looking at the signage of cities I visit.  We’ve looked at signs of Quebec City, Prague, Toronto and Honolulu. Today we expand the list by adding the beautiful city of Charleston.

Among the best urban walks in North America is the area “South of Broad”, past wonderful old mansions, most meticulously and loving preserved.  There are some businesses here, but most of the businesses are “North of Broad”.  This photo gallery has an assortment of signs that I found interesting in the city, with one much appreciated contribution from PHeymont.  See if you can spot it.

But the City of Presidents also features a walk where you can encounter more than 40 Presidents who have been the United States’ Commander-in-Chief. The art is interesting and the walk is a lot of fun.
