Granville Island is one of my favorite spots in the greater Vancouver area. My brother and I returned to Vancouver this past June to attend a memorial service for our Uncle Paul, who had lived a rich life and passed away in his early 90s. I have many fond memories of the man, and we visited with friends and family. We also took a few days to see some of the sights and of course one of our stops was Granville Island.
The island is south of downtown Vancouver and sits on False Creek. The Granville Bridge passes overhead, a major route for traffic in the city....
The island used to be industrial but in the past decades has been gentrified and become one of the top spots in the city where people go to relax, take in a play, have dinner or a snack, and to shop at one of its interesting boutiques.
The island has some of the most unusual shops I've encountered in Canada, and hence I thought I'd post some of the signs I spotted during my day of exploring the Island. I hope you enjoy these:
