Singapore’s free layover tours are back

After a three-year pandemic gap, Singapore has re-started the free tours it offers to travelers who have a transit or transfer layover at Singapore’s Changi Airport. Before the pandemic, about 80,000 passengers a year took advantage of the offer.

Three of the four tours available too passengers with 5.5 to 24-hour layovers were offered before the halt; the fourth is a new addition, focusing on the area around the airport and eastern end of Singapore. Each tour lasts about 2.5 hours, and is available daily. A gradual increase to nine tours a day is planned.

The Jewel Tour visits natural areas including the Shiseido Forest Valley and includes sampling locally-made snack brands. The City Sights Tour includes the city’s most-developed areas and its national monuments, while the Heritage Tour covers places of interest such as Chinatown’s Buddha Tooth Temple, Arab Street and Haji Lane for a view of Singapore’s diversity
