The Skytrax list of the 'world's best airlines' for 2022 is out, and there aren't too many surprises near the top, with seven of last year's top 10 still in the top 10, joined by three that moved up from the second 10. And the three that fell from the top ten only dropped into the second 10.
Skytrax, an independent survey organization rates airlines. And airports. And a whole variety of other travel-related categories and subcategories on its website, including ratings for particular classes of service, meals and more. This year's survey included 13.42 million responses across 350 airlines.
Among the other take-aways: U.S. airlines fare poorly on the lists, with Delta at 24, Southwest at 35 and JetBlue at 41 the only ones to make the top 50. Canada squeaked in at 39 and 50 for WestJet and Air Canada. Six European airlines made it to the top 20, but the list continues to be dominated by Asian and Middle Eastern carriers, with Qatar taking the top spot for the seventh year in a row.
The whole list can be viewed at Skytrax.
