A recently-married Indian couple couldn't take off together on their two-week Italian honeymoon because the wife lost her passport—so the husband went off without her.
If that seems a bit callous, it actually paid off. Traveling with a picture of his wife and posting selfies with it to social media brought enough attention to the case to break a bureaucratic deadlock. He tagged the Indian Foreign Minister in one of the posts, and the official saw it and ordered issuance of a duplicate passport.
By the weekend, she was on her way to join him in Pisa for the rest of the trip.
