Spain has a 'Jaws' moment

A great white shark almost as big as a small car has been spotted swimming off an uninhabited island in Spain's Balearics archipelago. It's the first sighting of a great white in the area in 30 years.

Marine biologists spotted the shark near Cabrera, and videoed it from their research vessel. While some observers have questioned if it's really a great white, it has made headlines across Spain. Here's a clip.

The shark is about 16.5 feet long. As the research crew filmed it, it circled the boat several times, perhaps researching human activity in the area.

The best part of every trip is realizing that it has upset your expectations
