Florida is absolutely crazy about Holiday Lights. And one of the best ranked displays is the St. Augustine Night of Lights. This season’s display, it’s 25th, started Nov.17 and ends Feb. 3. Stores and restaurants are open late.
National Geographic chose St. Augustine as one the ten best holiday lighting displays in 2011 and 2012 .The city says there is about 3 million lights on display.
Although the light display is beautiful and timeless, my opinion is it’s a victim of its own sucesss. Opening Night has become so crowded, one can barely get to Downtown. And to me, Downtown St. Augustine, lost some of its charming quirkiness with its popularity.
