We were driving out of a car park in Falkirk, Scotland, when I spotted this swan with seven young cygnets on the other side of the road. We quickly stopped the car and I ran over to take these shots.
They were climbing up a grassy embankment and I thought the mother (I assume it was the mother) might attack me if I got too close, but she remained unperturbed.
I just had time to get these pictures before they disappeared over the top of the embankment, probably heading for the nearby extension to the Forth & Clyde Canal. It was a heart-warming sight.
