  1. Through dense forests & sandy beaches

The volcanic origin of the island ensures it has one of the most unique landscapes on Earth. Tenerife is riddled with vegetation and lush, beautiful forests. The laurel forests, which are sprinkled through the island, make for an interesting sight, as they are rare in the world, and offer a beautiful contrast with some of the island’s rougher, volcanic features. The island also boasts a number of milky white sandy beaches, perfect places to relax and take a moment to enjoy life.

  1. Visiting the island’s giant – Mount Teide

The highest peak on Spanish soil, Mount Teide, is located in the middle of Tenerife. This 3718 meter giant towers over the whole island, and is like a big brother watching over the entire island. If you’re lucky, take the opportunity and climb on top of the mountain and enjoy a spectacular view of Tenerife and the surrounding islands. The Teide national park, which stretches out around the mountain, is one of the most beautiful places on Earth, especially during the spring when the whole park blossoms and comes to life, and a must visit for anyone in Tenerife.

  1. Enjoying the numerous water sports

One of the most popular pass times on Tenerife are water sports. The perfect, year round warm weather ensures that sports are extremely popular and that the sport offer is diverse and plentiful. Water skiing, wakeboarding, jet skiing, sailing and diving are all popular and widely available at Tenerife, but the hottest offer right now is fly boarding. Glide over the water like a superhero and have fun, but don’t forget to be safe!

The capital of Tenerife, Santra Cruz, is one of the most important harbors in the Atlantic. The city was historically used as a port, which helped fund its rapid growth during the 19th century. As a result, the city buzzes with life and activity, interesting places, architecture, restaurants and much more. If you happen to be in Santra Cruz in February or March, the town turns into a party hotspot, as the plazas and street of the town fill up with the arrival of the carnival. Amazing colorful costumes, parades, singing, dancing, laughing, drinking, all of this and much more make up one of the largest carnivals in the world.

The town also has an active nightlife, with lots of clubs and discotheques to dance the night away. Santa Cruz is also an excellent base for your exploration of the whole island, as it has numerous hotels and rooms available for rent. If you are in Tenerife, don’t miss out and come to Santa Cruz!

I went to Tenerife as a kid and as an adult, lovely place both times. So family orientated. Mount Teide is amazing, being able to go from the beach to a snow capped volcano. Cable car ride sounds an amazing adventure!
