Texas-sized moon pie for sun's eclipse

Towns and cities across the country are hosting special events for tomorrow's eclipse, but only Irving, Texas will have the world's largest moon pie to dish out to viewers.

After five test runs, Chef Eduardo Alvarez and his team are ready with a pie that weighs 150-180 pounds, measures five feet in diameter by four inches thick, and contains 1,400 servings, which will be shared out to attendees at the Total Eclipse in the Park event sponsored by Visit Irving. The event also includes live music, gondola cruises and free eclipse glasses.

The pie itself eclipses all previous records with its ingredient list: 64 pounds of marshmallows, 128 eggs, 36 pounds of unsalted butter, 16 pounds of brown sugar, 60 pounds of all-purpose flour, and 45 pounds of marshmallow cream coated in 60 pounds of melted chocolate and 42 pounds of graham cracker crumbs.

The best part of every trip is realizing that it has upset your expectations
