Tightrope walker crosses Barcelona

There are many places from which to get a grand view of Barcelona, but it’s likely that few if any will ever get the view that Nathan Paulin had of the heart of the city when he crossed it on a tightrope last Sunday.

Paulin, who holds a number of records for slackline walking, took 40 minutes to cover the 700 meters between Placa Catalunya and the top of an office building on Passeig de Gracia, while thousands stood below and watched.

The spectacle was a kickoff for the city’s Grec Festival, an international theatre, dance, music and circus festival.in the Catalan capital, and also commemorated the 200th anniversary of the building of the Passeig de Gràcia, known as the most expensive street in Barcelona and in Spain.
