“Transparent Airfare Act” seems dead for now

The so-called Transparent Airfare Act that would have allowed airlines to quote low fares and hide the taxes and fees until the end of booking, appears to have died a well-deserved death.

 

Last year, it was passed by the House of Representatives over the objections of consumer advocates and even some business publications (such as Forbes), but it was never taken up in the Senate. With the start of a new Congress, all bills need to start over…and this one seems to have lost quite a few of its original sponsors. DETAILS
