Four sailors in their 60s are competing in a solo round-the-world yacht race, starting from Les Sables d'Olonne France this Sunday. They are the oldest of 29 sailors competing this year.
Few sailors succeed in completing the circuit; injuries, exhaustion, snapped masts and other dangers are plentiful, but the seniors are undaunted.
The oldest, Rich Wilson, 66, is an MIT-educated professor, who has signed up thousands of schools to follow his journey via podcasts he'll be posting on his sitesalive.com website.
