TripAdvisor's taking more steps in its plan to be a one-stop research and booking platform. As of this week, its Instant Booking for hotels is being expanded to 9 more countries with English-speaking TripAdvisor websites.
Joining the U.S. and U.K. are Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, India, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Ireland and South Africa. The company plans to spread the capability worldwide by the end of 2016.
TripAdvisor has been actively adding partners with companies that have inventories of accommodations. The big move, announced in October, was a partnership with Priceline Group's booking.com, which gave TripAdvisor access to one of the largest inventories. Other partners include Accor, Choice Hotels, Starwood, Mandarin Oriental, Marriott, Hyatt, Carlson, Best Western, La Quinta Wyndham.
