Tulips in Bowral, Australia

The town of Bowral is in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales, Australia, about 60 miles south of Sydney. Apart from being my home town, Bowral holds an annual festival called Tulip Time at this time every year, which is spring in the Southern Hemisphere.

It’s a colourful event that attracts visitors from all over Australia, and from overseas too in normal times. It usually features musicians and other entertainers as well.

The tulips create a spectacular sea of colour and some are formed into creative displays. The event lasts for about three weeks after which the tulips start to fade.

Some of our native birds like to visit as well.
