Turkey Day travel favorites for 2024

 


Millions of Americans will hit the road (or airport) around Thanksgiving, heading either for family traditions 'back home' or for a late fall vacation break, and Allianz Partners, the travel insurance company, has been tracking data to find the most popular destinations.

Allianz reviewed more than 750,000 travel itineraries find the top domestic and international destinations based on roundtrip flights departing from U.S. airports from Saturday, November 23 to Thursday, November 28, and returning Friday, November 29 to Tuesday, December 3.

New York City continues at Number One with its busy streets and famous parade. Following in its footsteps, Seattle repeats as Number Two for the fourth year in a row. Dallas made Number Three for the first time, up from 6, followed by Phoenix and Orlando to round out the top 5. Behind them are Atlanta, Los Angeles, Boston, Chicago and Miami.



Among international destinations, with a four-year streak in place, Mexico’s Cancun, San Jose Del Cabo, and Puerto Vallarta were once again the top three. London ranked next, with Nassau, Bahamas filling out the top five. The next group is led by Paris, Punta Cana, Montego Bay, Aruba and Mexico City.
