The future has a date for airports in the UK; the 3D scanners that can eliminate the need to take liquids and laptops out of carry-ons will be in all major airports by Dec. 1, 2022.
While that seems a long way in the future, the announcement by Transport Secretary Grant Shapps is one of the first commitments world-wide to fully implement the Computerized Tomography (CT) scanners across the country.
Heathrow, the country's largest airport, will likely be the first focus, especially since it is already a test site for the machines.
