United celebrates flying women with all-female crew

There are many women working in aviation these days, but there's room for more. And many of the women now working are not in the high-end jobs, including cockpit crews and mechanics. So, United Airlines recent selection of an all-woman crew to take delivery of its latest 737-900 was meant to send a signal to young women that opportunity is there.

In addition to the crew, the flight from Seattle to Chicago took on 80 women passengers, all United employees from all levels of the company. Forty percent of United's employees are women. MORE info at runwaygirl.com
