Unusual Itinerary: cruise to circle South America

The Regent Seven Seas cruise line is planning a complete circuit of South America from Florida in 2019. The 700-passenger Seven Seas Mariner will pass twice between Atlantic and Pacific, by rounding Cape Horn and via the Panama Canal. The trip will take 66 days.

It’s not the first time for such a trip; Regent has done it before, and so have Holland America and Crystal, but it remains unusual…and expensive, starting at about $35,000 per person, or about $530 a day.

Along the way, highlights will include visits to Chile’s fjords, the Falkland Islands, and a cruise up the Amazon River in Brazil. There will also be stops in Peru, Colombia, Ecuador, Argentina, Uruguay and a number of Caribbean islands.
